Kramer’s Rule was formed in San Diego, CA. Someone approached Alex Ferguson and was friends with David Reith and James Belt. All four were Engineering majors at San Diego State University. Someone and Dave started rooming together and got an apartment. There would be a bunch of parties and the band just started jamming together. We ended up putting writing and recording a few of the songs on our first demo, called “The Demo Sessions”. We recorded this at a studio in downtown San Diego at Rafter Roberts studio, but the mix wasn’t quite right. Couldn’t get it fixed the way we wanted, but it turned out to be good enough to get some shows lined up. Kramer’s Rule ended up playing in the local area with the first show out in East County, but ended up playing a number of shows at Scolari’s Office, The Honey Beehive, The Casbah and a number of other local venues around town. The band ended up doing some smaller tours up and around the Southern California and southwest area from Bakersfield, Fresno, Phoenix and El Paso, TX. The band played at venues such as the legendary Knitting Factory in LA, The Garage in LA and Cheyenne Saloon in Las Vegas, NV.
The band saved up money and started recording at DoubleTime Studio in San Diego, CA with Jeff Forrest (recorded Cheshire Cat record, Blink 182). Writing and recording 2-3 songs a weekend over time and in 2004 released “fROM tHE fALL” on Stereo Press Records. The band played the ASR Tradeshow showcase downtown San DIego and played with skaterock Legends McRad (Chuck Treece; featured in Powell Peralta’s Public Domain ) in Ocean Beach. The band just stopped playing, but never officially broke up.
In 2020, the band put out “B-Side Sessions” which were songs that were recorded, but didn’t make the full length.
